In this letter, a NSW Branch Committee member of the AJA, journalist Tony Reeves, informs fellow members about an incident that ensued when he and journalist/publisher Barry Ward continued their investigations into the disappearance on July 4, 1975 of Juanita Nielsen, publisher of the King's Cross paper NOW. According to Reeves, both men went to Laramie Restaurant in King's Cross to speak to Mr. Triggs, one of the last people to see Nielsen. Reeves claims that after he and Ward left they were forced into a police car and taken to Darlinghurst Police Station where they were informed by police that Mr. Triggs was 'a figment of our imagination', arrested and held overnight for being 'drunk in Forbes Street'. Reeves ends his letter by stating he is seeking a General Meeting of members so that the matter can be fully discussed

The reason given for the suspension is the internment, without prior trial, of three proprietors, including the Editor, by order of the Minister for the Army. The memorandum states that no charge has been made against the three, or the thirteen other Australian-born men interned with them. It calls on readers to write requesting release, exoneration and a full inquiry to Ministers of the Crown, Members of Parliament, and editors of newspapers and for a lifting of the censorship instruction which has meant their case has not been presented in newspapers
